At The Coastlands we believe that our children are a gift from God and they are a priority in our ministry. Jesus told us that whoever receives a child in His name receives Him. We are here to love our kids, interact with them, get to know them, and create a safe place for them.

“Jesus spoke to the people again. He said, ‘I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in darkness. They will have that light. They will have life.’” John 8:12

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and walk along the road. Talk about them when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7

As a church, we believe that the gospel is good news, an irresistible message that draws people and transforms them.  Regardless of age, Jesus desires to have a relationship with us that will be life-giving and life-changing.  Children’s Ministries presents the Bible in a language and manner which is understandable and age-appropriate for the children we serve.  We believe that the Lord has “life” for our children and as their covering it’s our responsibility to teach them what that is. We want to go deep with them and at the same time let them know that life in God is an exciting journey that they get to discover.

IN TEACHING OUR CHILDREN, WE ALWAYS WANT TO FOCUS ON THESE THREE TRUTHS:

  • God is good and He loves us very much.
  • He desires to have a relationship with us through Jesus.
  • The Bible is true and provides patterns and principles by which we can live.

Working together with parents, family, teachers and other adults, we believe that Children’s Ministries can be one piece in the larger picture of a child’s life and one avenue by which God can secure, shape and instruct each child.

In addition to serving the children in our church, Children’s Ministries provides a place for adults to serve.  By serving together on a weekly basis, individuals have an opportunity to form relationships with both adults and children.  Serving children who have no means of reciprocating gives a place for an outflow of the good and blessing which the Lord pours into us.

When you bring your child to a service at The Coastlands, they will experience:

  • Interaction with other children and adults in a small group that is based on age (for younger children) or grade (for school age children).
  • Activities that provide an interactive way to learn Biblical truths.
  • Outside play time.
  • Large-group assembly time where Biblical teaching is carried out through Bible reading, skits, videos, and worship.
