Plenty Express

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

Welcome to the Plenty Express, with direct service to “The Land of Plenty!"

It’s a land that shows us what God thinks about us—and He’s got plenty of thoughts to go around! You see, in the beginning, God made the heavens and the earth and everything in them. And all throughout His amazing creation, He left traces of “The Land of Plenty.” Once you see those traces, it’s easy to get there, and there’s always room on the Plenty Express to take you to your next adventure!

Here at The Coastlands, we believe that caring for our children is more than babysitting—it’s a gift to us all. We are committed to serving each other no matter what age we are, knowing that giving of ourselves to others ultimately brings us and those around us life abundant. We believe that getting to know your children will make our lives richer, and that as we give ourselves to pouring the riches of His Word into them they will be more ready for the adventures they will face in life.

Each classroom in our Children’s Ministries is a “station” on the route of the Plenty Express, a train that travels through the “Land of Plenty,” following the Lord’s tracks and stopping for adventure after adventure. Each classroom has a theme based on a verse and a principle we want our kids to know. And the hallways have many landmarks also created from Scriptures—it’s the Bible come to life in a language kids can understand. The idea is for them to learn all about the “Land of Plenty,” but to realize that there are traces of this land in our real lives, and the Lord walks with us there.

To really hear the heart we have for your kids, take a moment to chat with our Children's Ministries Pastor, Jessie Engelhardt. Her heart overflows with vision, love and direction that give a parent confidence.

Teachers

Each classroom is served by a handful of people from one of our (home fellowship groups). We realize that having the same faces in class each week is especially important when it comes to helping babies and toddlers feel secure. All of our Children's Ministries teachers undergo a thorough application process and background check.

Checking In and Out

Before dropping your child off to his or her classroom, please check in at one of our CCB computer stations. You will find a sign-in sheet to register your child to class. This sheet asks for your location during church in case we need you for any reason. At least one parent must remain on campus at all times. Every CCB station is staffed with someone ready to help check your child in. They will get a name tag with the appropriate classrom on it, plus any other helpful information for our teachers.

Your child will only be allowed to be picked up by the parent or guardian. Please don't send siblings (under 18 years) to pick up your child. This avoids confusion and lets us communicate directly with you should the need arise.

Classroom Guidelines

We encourage positive behavior by communicating clear boundaries and filling our classrooms with love and praise. The teachers role model and encourage the children to be kind to each other with their words and their hands. This sets the foundation for developing friendships and fostering kindness between the children. However, we realize there may be situations where children need to be reminded of appropriate behavior and we want for you as a parent to be comfortable with and confident about how those situations are handled.

Visual Paging System

In case of illness, emergency, excessive crying, or any other situations requiring parental assistance, we will notify you via our digital pager, located in the front of the Sanctuary. If you see the last four digits of your phone number, please meet a CM representative (Service Support) inside the Nursery Entrance. They will inform you of the situation and direct you to the correct room or area for your child.

Well Child Policy

Just as you trust us to care for your child, we trust you to not bring your child to CM if he or she is ill. Our teachers and staff are qualified to see that our health guidelines are followed. Bringing only well children ensures that the teachers are not placed in the awkward position of not being able to accept your child into the class for the sake of others.

Please keep your child home if he/she has:

  • Fever within the last 24 hours or obvious contagious conditions like chicken pox, measles, pink eye, etc...
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Congested coughing
  • Cold symptoms or a green/yellow runny nose
  • A rash that is not heat or allergy related
