How To Face Difficult Times

Guest speaker Pastor Felix Gil, the national Foursquare leader for Peru, begins today’s teaching with the reminder that since no one lives a trouble-free life, we each need to decide to whom (or to what) we will turn to find hope during difficult times. He then offers six basic biblical principles to follow during such times:

  1. Pray. Activate our faith by putting all of our concerns into God’s hands (Philippians 4:6, Ephesians 6:18).

  2. Meditate on the Word of God. Focus on what Scripture has to say about our particular problem (Psalms 1:2, 63:6, 119:48).

  3. Rest in the Lord. Allow time for prayer and meditation on God’s Word before making any decisions, and set aside time to rest (Psalm 46:10 and Psalm 127).

  4. Live righteously. Honor God by trusting that He knows all about our situation and how He is going to solve it (Galatians 5:16-18).

  5. Keep a positive attitude by exercising our faith and trust in Him alone (Proverbs 3:5-6).

  6. Continue in our ministry. Keep shining God’s light wherever we go (Psalm 91:3, Galatians 6:9, 2 Corinthian 4:1-6).
